I have lived in the coastal town of Newcastle my whole life. My love of photography began at the age of twelve, when I was given my first SLR camera for a birthday present. Only set-up with a canon 40D and a 18-55mm EF and 70-300mm EF lenses I have managed to capture the way I view the local scenes and imagery of Newcastle.

By the age of 14, I found I had a gift for sports and action photography. With my newly flared interest with sports photography coupled with a coastal lifestyle I discovered my love of surf photography. Through a failure of the sport myself, I found more love and enjoyment with a camera than a board.

In the past several years, while I have studied and developed my skills in the field of surf photography, Surfhouse Photography was born. From the age of 16 I work on expanding and growing the business through the use of markets, festivals and trade fairs.

Mainly influenced by surf photographers of the 1960's and 1970's such as Californian Ron Stoner, Leroy Grannis and John "Doc" Ball and Australian Jon Witzig, I managed to develop a style and tone that was purely novacastrian with a hint of retro feel. When starting Surfhouse photography I had a style I wanted to portray a unique view on the world of surf photography just as my influences and the legends of the 1960's and 1970's.

At the beginning of Surfhouse photography I knew had something different, I knew I had to use this difference. The major difference I have to most of the other surf photographers was that I was a girl.

I am a regular at all the local and internationally recognised surf contests in Newcastle and Central Coast regions such as Maitland Toyota Surfest and the Midori Pro. I was surprised to learn I am only one of a select band of female photographers in the Newcastle region, I was even the first female photographer featured in a female based international surf magazine, Curl.

As I am still young, I still have much to learn, challenges to face and adventures all waiting for me.
